Following last year’s excellent examination results Parkside Sports College at Willington has this year produced results that cannot be surpassed by any school in the country. 100% of students in Year 11 have achieved at least 8 grade C passes at GCSE, or equivalent. Parkside is certainly the first school in County Durham and possibly in the North East to achieve these phenomenal results.
Many of our 166 Year 11 students have achieved A and A* grades across the board with 98% of students achieving far better examination results than expected from Government predictions.
70% of students exam passes included at least a grade C in GCSE English with 55% achieving at least a C in Maths, placing us well above county and national averages.
These excellent examination results are the best ever at Parkside, exceeding last year’s record of 80% and are likely to make Parkside the most improved school in the country on the Government’s 3 year measure.
“Our students have worked hard this year and have been expertly guided and supported by our superb team of teachers and support staff. Our rigorous tracking system, where the attainment and achievement of every child is used to challenge underachievement at every level, is used in open communication with parents to allow them to work with us to ensure every student achieves the best they can.”
